HeroMode can be used in many different ways, including staying focused and productive at work. In today's post, a beta user describes how she uses HeroMode's repeat quests to schedule multiple "productivity hours" throughout each work day.

HeroMode v2 is now available in the App Store!

We have added a lot of new functionalities to make getting stuff done more joyful:

• Activity Calendars: see patterns and trends of all your efforts
• Adventure Milestones: track progress and celebrate reaching your goals
• Quest Checkboxes: deeper organization of subtasks
• Pause & Resume a repeat quest: take a break when you are on a break
• Copy a quest: easily repeat a quest one time

WRD-PLT (Word Plate) is a game we play on road trips. The game is simple: as another car drives by, take the three letters on their license plate, and come up with words containing all three letters in that order.

But not all three-letter triplets are fun for this game. Some are impossible ("ZQX"). Some are too easy ("ING"). Here we apply statistical analysis to come up with a set of triplets that are within the goldilocks zone of playability.

We also use HeroMode to stay healthy, be active, and eat better. HeroMode helps maintain these daily habits by

• automatically creating repeat quests to keep the Cue → Routine → Reward loop going
• adapting to our lives with flexibility
• keeping us motivated with points, activity calendar, and milestones
• leveraging social power with adventure buddies

HeroMode can also be used as a project management tool. For example, we have been using HeroMode to manage the software development process of HeroMode. It allows us to:

• Manage our tasks in a motivating way
• Prioritize what we need to do with sorting and quest locking
• Record notes and screenshots with Mementos
• Visualize progress with points stats and activity calendar
• Create milestones to celebrate all meaningful moments

HeroMode can be used in many different ways: to organize tasks, track habits, and even manage learning goals. Here we showcase an example usage of HeroMode for language and vocabulary learning.

We are getting ready to release HeroMode v2! In this release, we are adding a bunch of new functionalities, including:

• Copy a quest
• Pause & unpause a repeat quest
• Quest checkboxes
• Adventure Milestones
• Activity calendars

We are very excited to get HeroMode v2 out into the world. It'll be available September 2022.

HeroMode can help you manage everyday tasks and chores. For example, it's particularly helpful for us when it comes to recurring pet-related tasks. We use the Repeate Quest functionality to schedule quests on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Motivation for reading was one of our earliest HeroMode use cases. Here are some tips that have worked for us that we hope will also work for you to reach your reading goals:

• Break down a book into chapters or even pages. Split it into multiple Quests.
• "Chain up" the quests by using the "Lock Quest" functionality. When you finish a chapter, the next quest will be automatically unlocked!
• Create Adventures based on how challenging you anticipate the reading goal to be. For a particularly thick and heavy book, you can create an adventure just for this book. Alternatively, you can create an adventure for multiple books - say, based on a topic, theme, or a yearly goal.
